my free spirited girl

one thing i really love about ava's personality is her willingness to help. whether it be house work, gardening, putting away the groceries, helping soothe nolan, or cooking. the girl is always willing to give a hand when needed. our garden out front needed some major help. with the rains we have had this year it's made for a ton of weeds. the frosty cold nights have killed a lot of my potted plants so i promised her that we would get some new flowers to replace them. we spent most of the morning outside pulling unwanted friends out of our soil, and prepping the pots for our pretty new red tulips we picked out at the hardware store. we set up a picnic on the grass and shared a turkey sandwich, some strawberries and a juice box. oh to be a kid! we carefully made sure our garden got special love while avoiding the thorns on the roses. our tulips were the perfect red shade against our green house! days like this with ava sit very special in my heart. she's such a free spirited child, with a very gentle soul. today, we have had lots of rain and hail! all of you on the east coast are in my prayers. stay safe!
